Red Devil Italian Restaurant & Pizzeria on East McDowell Road dates to 1960, when two partners known as Big Joe and Little Joe bought a place that already had the name on its sign; the Digeno family still runs it. Newer kitchens keep the habit going. Adela’s is a family-owned spot in a strip mall on East Thomas Road near Arcadia, and American Way Pasta opened in an Ahwatukee shopping plaza in late 2024 with a classic chicken parmigiana on the menu, served with spaghetti or fettuccine on the side.
